BASFL/ELITE

WHAT IS BASFL/ELITE SOCCER?

The AYSO Bay Area Fall Soccer League (BAFSL)/Elite Program is a part of AYSO EXTRA™ designed for players in the AYSO Bay Area participating regions, BAFSL/ELITE Soccer is designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities. It is designed to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO, providing the next evolution to AYSO SELECT Soccer. Experience competitive play in challenging matches, receive excellent player development with trained/accredited coaches. Players will have the opportunity to participate in competitive US Club Soccer tournaments, all while emphasizing the Six Philosophies of AYSO:  Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development.

Fees

Players will be expected to register for and pay the Fall Registration fees. Additional fees will be collected by each team to offsets the cost of uniform kits (two jerseys, shorts, and socks), field rental fees and other incidental expenses. Players are expected to participate in several tournaments with the actual number based on the coach's preference and scheduling requirements. You can expect to participate in anywhere from 4-6 tournaments. The tournament registration costs will vary, but can run anywhere from $45-$60 per player per tournament. You will need to account for other incidental travelling costs such as gas, food, and lodging depending on the location of the tournament. Team fund-raising / sponsorship requests are encouraged.

Note: There are no scholarships offered for the Select season as this is an optional offering.

Costs

Registration Fee – Player must register for and pay the Fall Registration fee for Concord AYSO
Additional Fees – will be collected from each player, ranging from $325-$500

Registration fee covers:
  · AYSO Registration
  ·  AYSO National Annual Player fee
  ·  AYSO supplemental insurance fee

Additional fees cover other costs for the season, which may include:
  ·  Uniforms, as needed
  ·  
Field rental and maintenance fees
  ·  US Club Soccer fees
  ·  US Club Referee fees
  ·  Tournament fees - up to five
  ·  Outside player development fees, etc…

Player Eligibility

Players must be registered with Concord AYSO and participate/attend the evaluation tryout(s) as designated by the Region. The Blue Sombrero Registration Management System shall be the source of determining a players' current registration status. There is no requirement that BAFSL/ELITE players previously played or registered as AYSO players.

Program Structure

 BAFSL/ELITE Soccer program is for 10U through 18U players. Regions that create multiple teams in the same division shall make all reasonable efforts to create balanced teams. At no time is inter-regional recruitment of players already registered in another Region allowed without the prior approval of each of the Regional Commissioners, Area Directors and the Section Director concerned.

Organization

 The Concord AYSO BAFSL/ELITE Soccer program will run on a multi-Area basis. Concord AYSO BAFSL/ELITE Soccer will operate in conjunction with the Concord AYSO standard primary fall program. Players have the option to play both BAFSL/Elite and fall soccer programs concurrently, but are not required to do so. Concord AYSO BAFSL/ELITE established program participation guidelines include participation in 2 to 3 week-day training sessions and a Sunday training and/or match.

How to play Elite soccer?

Each player must register for Concord AYSO, during Fall Soccer registration, by choosing BAFSL/ELITE Soccer.
Must attend both tryout days typically held in May at Westwood/El Dorado fields (check calendar for specific dates):  U10-U12, 4-6 pm and U14-19, 6-8pm.
Team formation occurs mid-June, coaches will contact players.
Matches may begin after Aug. 1 and conclude by Nov 30.
Matches are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays – schedules provided later.
