Update 2-2-21

Spring registration is open. This is an opportunity to get your children out on the pitch. Be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, program will be run similar to the Fall program with players placed in small, stable groups of 10 or less with scrimmages only within their group.

Update 8-13-20

Concord AYSO, Region 305, will begin our first phase of players returning to ASYO Core, on September 12. Based upon the State of California and Contra Costa County directives, the modified format of stable groups, consisting of no more than 10 people, including the coach will train one to three days per week depending upon age bracket.

It is anticipated that a second phase which includes the return of larger trainings may occur 4-6 weeks after phase 1. As County guidance changes in this fluid environment, our plans will be adjusted accordingly with prompt communication.

Based upon the State of California and Contra Costa County directives, please note that if you choose to bring your child to our soccer program, they are not allowed to participate in any other extracurricular activities including camps or programs at the same time. Additionally, it is important to understand that prior to attending an AYSO Soccer program, a child must be 10 days clear of any program (waiting period) in which they are currently enrolled. If you have questions or concerns about the "one program" requirement you may contact Mario Avila, Regional Commissioner at any time. We strongly encourage participation in other sports/activities and also understand that many players may be in longer structured programs throughout the summer. Our intention is to provide a fun, safe and social environment for your child, do not worry about them falling behind over this short phase one period.

Coaches: Please note this does not mean you can organize private trainings or team trainings at other field locations. Our current return to play will be in an environment that will be run at designated fields in Concord. Once guidelines are further relaxed for return to play, we will return to team training at other fields

Parents: Please note that upon arrival at the field the following things will occur before your child is allowed to participate:

1.     They must have their own equipment, which will be wiped down with hand sanitizer
2.     We get a verbal yes that they are not participating in other extra-curricular activities
3.     We have the COVID 19 Signed Waiver on file
4.     They have a forehead temperature check

Further:

1.     A Master Coach will monitor overall training
2.     Field monitors will be used to ensure social distancing is enforced
3.     Parents will not be allowed to stay on the sidelines

We are excited at the prospect of getting back on the fields. We plan to accomplish this process in a safe and responsible way while maintaining the health and well-being of our AYSO Soccer community.

Update 7-15-20
Thank you to the families who have already pre-registered for the Fall program.

Our Board is working hard to determine the SAFEST way to return-to-play once we get the green light from the Contra Costa County Health Department along with the City of Concord. We are hopeful to have a soccer program in the Fall.

With that said safety is our number one priority for getting onto the pitch, just like you and your kids we are also anxious to get outside and play sports again. We are reaching out for those who are not sure about pre-registering, but are interested in playing, if we are actually allowed to be on the pitch.

We have put together a player interest questionnaire to help us gauge interest and to help us plan. We are asking you to take 10 minutes to fill out the player interest questionnaire to help with our planning under this new normal we are working to fit into.

Here is a link to AYSO Nationals Return to Play guidelines for our new normal. For our wonderful volunteers that we need to make Region 305 run, don't worry we haven't forgotten about you. We also have a Volunteer Interest form that we would ask you to fill out as well. Please fill out one form for each person in your household that has interest in volunteering. Without our volunteers, we can't make Region 305 run year after year like we do, so please volunteer.

If you have a relative or a friend that is interested in volunteering, don't be afraid to forward the Volunteer Interest form over to them.

We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you on the Pitch in 2020.

Update 6-4-20
We have been amid an unprecedented time that has affected all of us in different ways. This pandemic has hit our kids the hardest as they have had to adjust to distance learning, cancellation of their recreational and competitive sports seasons, distance from friends and family, and a complete disruption to their way of life. We hope that their lives can return to normal as soon as possible. Many of you may have questions regarding when our kids will be returning to play and if there will be a fall season. We are in constant communication with the AYSO National Office as well as monitoring our local CDC, County and City regulations as we start to re-open our communities. Our hope is that we can get back to the pitch as soon as possible while keeping the well-being of our players, volunteers, and families a priority. While we do not have a specific date or answer for you now, we will continue to monitor regulations and inform you as soon as we have more answers.

Right now, we are asking families to pre-register for Fall before June 30, 2020. Pre-Registration is necessary to indicate that you have interest in participating in Fall, but there is NO financial commitment at this time. We won’t collect any credit card data now. Pre-Registration will help us make plans to move forward and provide the best soccer program we can!

When you Pre-Register, your player(s) will be placed on a waiting list for their age division. By mid-summer, we hope to have a better idea of how the Fall program will look – and your player(s) will be “activated” from the waiting list and you will receive an email giving you the option to ACCEPT (and complete Fall registration with payment) or DECLINE (withdraw from the program with no financial penalty). There is no pressure to enroll if you’ve been pre-registered and change your mind and there is no financial cost either.

Update 4-17-20
Due to not knowing when it will be safe to take the field again we are officially canceling our Spring Program. Since we did not distribute uniforms and were unable to run any practices or play any games, we are able to provide everyone with a full refund. Below are several options for how to receive your refunds:

  1. A check can be mailed if you need your refund quickly – it may take a over a week.
  2. Have funds held on account for payment of Fall MY2020 registration - this will guarantee a spot.for your child.
  3. Donate the monies to our Scholarship fund, to help families dealing with financial hardship during these difficult times.
  4. Refund to the credit the card used for payment – this option is currently not available as we are awaiting instructions from the National Office, which may become available in the next week or two.
Please fill out this “Spring 2020 Player Withdraw/ Refund Form" to let us know which option you would like. Please submit your request to [email protected] by May 15, 2020.

Thank you for your understanding.

Update 4-11-20
Concord AYSO Region 305 is planning to run our Fall program. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we ask that you work with us as we negotiate the uncertainty of when the restrictions will be lifted and when we can get teams onto the pitch.

In an effort to give parents an opportunity to register their children, but not incur the fee right now, we setting our registration fee to $0 with the understanding that once the program can begin the full registration fee of $170 will be due. You will be required to complete the registration process, through and including paying the $20 National Player Fee. For those parents that complete this process on or before May 31, 2020, we will honor the early bird discount of $15, making the full registration fee only $155. Once the registration fee is due, a payment plan option will be available through the Sports Connect portal.

Registering your child now will allow us to coordinate how many teams and coaches we can expect to need to make the MY2020 season a success. We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available.
