Update 8-13-20
Concord AYSO, Region 305, will begin our first phase of players returning to ASYO Core, on September 12. Based upon the State of California and Contra Costa County directives, the modified format of stable groups, consisting of no more than 10 people, including the coach will train one to three days per week depending upon age bracket.
It is anticipated that a second phase which includes the return of larger trainings may occur 4-6 weeks after phase 1. As County guidance changes in this fluid environment, our plans will be adjusted accordingly with prompt communication.
Based upon the State of California and Contra Costa County directives, please note that if you choose to bring your child to our soccer program, they are not allowed to participate in any other extracurricular activities including camps or programs at the same time. Additionally, it is important to understand that prior to attending an AYSO Soccer program, a child must be 10 days clear of any program (waiting period) in which they are currently enrolled. If you have questions or concerns about the "one program" requirement you may contact Mario Avila, Regional Commissioner at any time. We strongly encourage participation in other sports/activities and also understand that many players may be in longer structured programs throughout the summer. Our intention is to provide a fun, safe and social environment for your child, do not worry about them falling behind over this short phase one period.
Coaches: Please note this does not mean you can organize private trainings or team trainings at other field locations. Our current return to play will be in an environment that will be run at designated fields in Concord. Once guidelines are further relaxed for return to play, we will return to team training at other fields
Parents: Please note that upon arrival at the field the following things will occur before your child is allowed to participate:
1. They must have their own equipment, which will be wiped down with hand sanitizer
2. We get a verbal yes that they are not participating in other extra-curricular activities
3. We have the COVID 19 Signed Waiver on file
4. They have a forehead temperature check
Further:
1. A Master Coach will monitor overall training
2. Field monitors will be used to ensure social distancing is enforced
3. Parents will not be allowed to stay on the sidelines
We are excited at the prospect of getting back on the fields. We plan to accomplish this process in a safe and responsible way while maintaining the health and well-being of our AYSO Soccer community.
Update 7-15-20Thank you to the families who have already
pre-registered for the Fall program.
Our Board is working hard to determine the SAFEST way to return-to-play once we get the green light from the Contra Costa County Health Department along with the City of Concord. We are hopeful to have a soccer program in the Fall.
With that said safety is our number one priority for getting onto the pitch, just like you and your kids we are also anxious to get outside and play sports again. We are reaching out for those who are not sure about pre-registering, but are interested in playing, if we are actually allowed to be on the pitch.
We have put together a player interest questionnaire to help us gauge interest and to help us plan. We are asking you to take 10 minutes to fill out the player interest questionnaire to help with our planning under this new normal we are working to fit into.
Here is a link to AYSO Nationals Return to Play guidelines for our new normal. For our wonderful volunteers that we need to make Region 305 run, don't worry we haven't forgotten about you. We also have a Volunteer Interest form that we would ask you to fill out as well. Please fill out one form for each person in your household that has interest in volunteering. Without our volunteers, we can't make Region 305 run year after year like we do, so please volunteer.
If you have a relative or a friend that is interested in volunteering, don't be afraid to forward the Volunteer Interest form over to them.
We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you on the Pitch in 2020.
